TONY BAPTISTE – COUNCILLOR

Tony was born in Oliver on September 10, 1956. His parents are the late Jim and Tillie Baptiste and his grandparents are Louie and Isabel Louie and Narcisse and Victoria Baptiste. Tony has lived in Oliver all his life and graduated from South Okanagan Secondary in 1975. Tony obtained his Electrician Journeyman Certificate after attending a 4-year program at Cariboo College in Kamloops in 1980. Tony also attended the Dale Carnegie course in public speaking receiving the top award for the course.Tony lives in Oliver on the Osoyoos Indian Band Reserve subdivision. He shares 6 children and 10 grandchildren with his partner of 14 years, Laurie Wilson. Tony is an active golf player and curler.Tony owned and operated his own electrical business from 1982 to 1985. He has worked with the Band since 1986. Tony is the Operations and Maintenance Manager for the Band and has sat on council for the Osoyoos Indian Band for a total of 19 years.(“I am proud to be a part of all of the Band’s accomplishments and look forward to continued success.
